Garage Door Lubrication 101 

As a Las Vegas garage door repair company I can only tell you that this is so important to do at least once a year and I myself do it twice a year on my own personal residence. With our extreme heat as well as the desert dryness our garage doors go through conditions that not many experience like Las Vegas. By doing this lubrication to your garage door you will help push off garage door repairs in most cases.

If you're going to lube your garage door yourself the most popular lube is 3-IN-ONE Garage Door Lubricant. It's easy to use and a small cane will last you for five or six garage door lube jobs if done properly. Here is a link for the lube so you know what to look for ( Garage Door Lube Link ). 

THE GARAGE DOOR LUBE PROCESS 

Clean the tracks using a towel like product to remove any build up that is interfering with the garage door’s movement.  Do not lubricate the tracks, but make sure they are clean.
Spray the garage door torsion springs that lift your garage door day after day. You should only lubricate them enough to where they move better but are not dripping.
Lubricate the steel hinges at their center points, but not on the plastic ones. 
If your rollers have nylon wheels that touch the track, make sure to only lubricate the bearings without spraying any lubricant on the nylon itself. Wipe away any excess lubricant to stop dripping from happening on your car as well as the garage floor. 

After you have all your garage door properly lubricated, close it and open it about four or five times to even out the lubricant’s distribution.  If you hear any noise coming from your garage door, track the sound down to determine if you missed a spot or if a professional garage door repair company should come out for service
